Ellie graduated from Pittsburg State University with her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish, and then received her graduate degree from Friends University in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has received additional training in areas such as Trauma- Focused CBT, DBT, Functional Family Therapy (FFT), IFS, and play therapy. Additionally, she is also level 2 trained in EMDR- an evidenced based treatment model proven effective in treating various types of trauma.
During her graduate program, Ellie served as an intern therapist at Safehome providing individual, family, and group therapy to children and adult survivors of domestic violence. After graduation, she began her career as a Functional Family Therapist providing intensive family therapy services for youth referred by the criminal justice system and their families. Later, she transitioned to providing outpatient therapy services at a community mental health center in rural Kansas, gaining experience working with a large variety of ages and populations.
Ellie strives to create a compassionate and safe environment for each client, as she works to both support and challenge her clients to achieve their goals. She enjoys working with individuals of all ages and families, especially adolescents and survivors of domestic violence, with various concerns such as trauma, depression, and anxiety.
